Wollmuth Ranch was founded in 1979 by Ron & Wendy Wollmuth on our current farmstead south of Moffit, ND. The ranch began as a commercial cow-calf operation with Angus and Hereford based cows. In 1989 we purchased 3 purebred Charolais females that our boys Tyler, Jared & Brian used as their 4-H project. The boys showed our Charolais genetics at 7 Junior National Shows and 3 National Shows in the 1990's. What started as a 4-H project evolved into raising Charolais Seedstock that we have for sale annually. Wollmuth Ranch was selected "Seedstock Producer of the Year" by the North Dakota Charolais Breeders in 2000.
In 1990 we began producing club calves by AI'ing our commerical cows to popular club calf sires. The boys exhibited our show steers at various County, State and National shows. We started selling club calves in 1996 to junior exhibitors throughout the Midwest.
In 1999 we purchased our first Maine Anjou bull to produce "Club Calf Mommas" and Mainetainer cows. At the present time our cowherd consists of 80 Charolais cows, 80 Crossbred cows and 30 Maine Anjou cows. Our Charolais cows are AI bred to produce club calves (Smokies) and purebred Charolais seedstock. Our crossbred cows are AI bred to popular club calf sires to produce show quality steers and heifers. Our Maine Anjou cows are AI bred to popular Maine Anjou sires to produce show cattle and Maine Anjou seedstock.
